What exactly is spinal decompression therapy?
Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD) Therapy is a precise, computer-controlled, groundbreaking form of spinal decompression therapy used to alleviate symptoms associated with disc compression, degeneration and herniation. We are able to achieve this by opening the disc space between specific, targeted vertebra using mild traction and oscillation, thereby relieving pressure on the spinal nerves.

Our Accu-SPINA system is proven to be the absolute best technology on the market to provide nonsurgical, noninvasive damaged disc resolution. This unprecedented technology was developed by advanced neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals with decades of experience in treating these conditions. Accu-SPINA uses dynamic energy applied at differentiating levels of the spine to administer gentle motion during treatment to relieve neck & back pain once and for all.

The Accu-SPINA has independent, neurosurgical studies performed on over 500 patients that were initially referred for surgery but chose to try IDD Therapy treatment on the Accu-SPINA first. In one study, the Accu-SPINA proved to be the first and only decompression device that demonstrated a 92% non-surgical success rate – even one full year post treatment.

But my Doctor told me I need surgery?I believe surgery should always be a last resort. Chiropractors believe in a holistic approach. That means full-body wellness and proceeding in the order of least to most invasive. You can do nothing and potentially not heal or proceed to get worse. You can try Chiropractic, Physical Therapy or massage as a first step. If that doesn’t cut it, our spinal decompression therapy bridges the gap between noninvasive and invasive options. Only if all of that fails should you opt for a cortisone injection and potentially surgery.
-
What should I expect after treatments? You should feel a regression if symptoms and looser in the area treated. There’s a chance you may be mildly sore a day or try afterwards as well. The decompressive forces applied during treatment are generally increased during subsequent sessions as your body can tolerate more of a stretch. Therefore, it will feel similar to the soreness you might expect after exercising. This is normal and we take steps before and after treatments to mitigate any excess soreness.
-
What if it doesn't work?Realistically that’s always a possibility. However, our treatment plan is proven to be 92% successful when adhering to the Doctor’s protocol.
-
What if I've already had surgery? While surgery can make it difficult to achieve the same results, it’s not always a lost cause. In the event of a fusion, a patient may have increased breakdown in the discs above and below the fused region because those areas have to now work harder to accommodate the decreased range of motion from

Will it make me taller?Potentially.
-
Do I need an x-ray or MRI first?Imaging is recommended as it allows us to identify exactly where and what the problem is. However, it is not 100% necessary to begin treatments.
-
Does IDD Therapy hurt? No. IDD Therapy is top-notch when it comes to patient safety and comfort. The bed effortlessly raises and lowers patients onto their backs, where they then have the option to have a pillow placed under their knees and a blanket for warmth. The decompressive forces are very gentle and gradual, and many patients even fall asleep during treatment.

Is IDD Therapy safe?Yes. It was developed by a team of ...
-
I already have an inversion table at home. Do I still need treatments?Great question. I would recommend using that in conjunction to these treatments if your body can tolerate both. Those are good tools to counteract the effects of gravity, but are no where near as safe or effective as our patented spinal decompression machines.
-
Will insurance cover treatments?Similar to stem cells, spinal decompression is considered "experimental", even when it has been proven to be safe and effective. Furthermore, our clinic does not directly take insurance. However, we are more than happy to fill out an insurance form for you to turn in for reimbursement.
-
How long is an IDD session?A single treatment session generally lasts 25-30 minutes. If time is not an issue for the patient, there are other modalities as well that complement the treatments nicely.
-
How many treatments will I need?Every patient is different in terms of how much relief they will get after each visit. The recommended protocol to resolve disc bulges and herniations is 20-24 treatments in a — period
